    comments...

    You have just got to laugh at the asinine and curious comments that people make to a pregnant woman...what else can you do?
     
    You can tell a person's own body image is pretty much based on the comments they make at this sensitive and critical time in your life - those who have been pregnant more recently - and who are secure with themselves - tell you "you look fabulous!"  "I wish that I had looked that good" "you can't even tell your pregnant unless I look right at your belly" "aren't you just the cutest pregant woman?! - I love those people!
     
    Then we have - the others - "Just when I think you can't get any huger...YOU DO!!"  (is huger a word?)  "You look like you are about to blow at any time!" (what am I?  A whale?)  "wow, you look like you might explode!"  (just watch me if you make that ridiculous remark again) - these are the observations by women who either a)  aren't very comfortable with their own bodies b)  haven't been pregnant in a long time or c)  feel the need to take a stab when they see me in a weakened state - they don't endear themselves to me with their pejorative opinions.
     
    So, the moral of this blog...be nice to pregnant women!  We are carrying an entire little person in there and that is pretty freaking amazing!!

    I know exactly what you mean!  Not only the silly comments but people feel that it's totally ok to just touch and rub your tummy. Granted, since we're pregnant it means at some point, at least once, someone has touched us before but that does not give the world the liberty to have a go.  I've found that pregnancy opens you up to soo many new experiences (pun definitely intended) however, modesty is not one. I'm continually amazed by the sheer number of people that get to cop a feel or have look-see.  I know pregnancy is supposed to be natural but, sometimes feels anything but.
    Sarcasm intended...humor optional...LOL

    Just here from your sister's blog.  I wanted to wish you the deepest of congratulations on your little arrival.  There's few greater miracles than the miracle of birth.  I wish you all the very best.  My wife and I lost a baby a few years ago and then were told we could have another yet we did have a miracle that's now two years old.  God is a great God indeed!

    As you can probably already see, Tressie has touched quite a few hearts in spaces and she is something very special. It seems like she has a great family including you.

            Boy do I ever feel silly. I misunderstood and was thinking she was the pregnant one and I come here and find out it is you. Duh!! What more can I say? Tressie will get a laugh for sure when she reads the comment I left her saying that YOU will have to let us know what is happening when the big day comes and I find out it is vice versa. I am here laughing at myself. Anyway sweety congratulations are in order here and I am so happy for you and I asked Tressie if I could invite her as a friend so I could follow her pregnancy so I'll ask you the same thing. Would it be okay, I always ask first? I never invite without permission. 
            I think you look marvelous!! Stay healthy and all the best to you and your wee one to be.

    Hello, my name is Beth, and I am a friend of Tressie's.  Extending my hand in friendship and letting you know that I enjoyed reading your blogs.  Since I have been blessed with children, and the experience of pregnancies, I had to nod and agree with your assessment of the process.  Have you had anyone say, "Mighty big watermelon you have there...Ha, Ha, Ha!"   It made me about as happy as you must have been getting the comments you mentioned.  BTW...you look lovely in your pregnancy...and I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it.  I would have just gone on to the next sentence.  Soooooooooo, welcome to Live Spaces and God Bless you and your family richly!!

    it is so true...in fact sometimes i think people son't think about what they say at all...they just blurt out the stupidest stuff...
